With all 240 precincts reporting, Mitch Little defeated incumbent Kronda Thimesch to win the Republican primary race for state representative District 65.

Little received 10,951 votes, about 51% of the total. After taking an early lead, Thimesch finished with 10,653 votes received, about 49.31% of the total.

Little, a Lewisville-based attorney who defended Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton during last year's impeachment trial, will face Democratic candidate Detrick DeBurr in the general election this November. DeBurr is a software engineer who serves on The Colony's Planning and Zoning Commission.

Kronda Thimesch continues to lead the Republican primary race for state representative District 65.

With 48 out of 240 precincts reporting, Thimesch has received 7,138 votes so far, about 51.06% of the total. Mitch Little has received 6,841votes, about 48.94% of the total.

Kronda Thimesch leads Mitch Little in the Republican primary race for state representative District 65 with 51.61% of the vote, according to early results from Denton County.


The details

Thimesch has 6,886 votes while Little has 6,457. The winner will earn the Republican candidacy in the November General Election for the Texas House District 65 race.

Thimesch is the incumbent. She was elected in November 2022.

House District 65 represents southern Denton County. Cities in the district include Lewisville, Flower Mound, Highland Village, Plano, Double Oak, Bartonville, Copper Canyon, Lantana, Argyle, Northlake and Fort Worth.

The winning candidate will face Democratic candidate Detrick DeBurr in the General Election this November.
