The projects have been filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and will go before the school board for final guaranteed maximum price approval consideration in the coming months, district officials said. The first phase of the Flower Mound campus renovations was completed as part of the 2017 bond and the allocations in the 2023 bond are for the second phase, executive director of construction Randy Fite said.
The details
Around $18 million is allocated for the high school maintenance work and $3.9 million for the stadium, according to the filing.
The 2023 bond allocated funds for maintenance and repair upgrades to various facilities and architects and construction managers for the Flower Mound High School project were approved in December 2023 and May 2024, respectively.
According to the district’s 2023 bond website, maintenance and repair projects usually include replacing or repairing the following:
- HVAC systems
- Roof
- Fire alarm systems
- Fire Sprinkler
- Doors and hardware
- Restrooms
- A/V equipment
- Classroom furniture
- Flooring
- Ceiling and lights
- Walk-In freezer
- Stage lighting and curtains
- Paint
- Casework

The stadium work uses funds from the 2024 bond, which voters approved last May and targets athletic facilities. The board approved the architect for the stadium renovations last June and the construction manager last August.
The work will include stadium renovations, tennis court resurfacing, new baseball and softball field lighting and locker rooms, a new scoreboard, and conversions to a turf field. Design for the scoreboard replacement began last fall, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
The context
Voters approved three of seven propositions from the $1.23 billion bond package in November 2023. Bond propositions allocated funds for technology updates, safety and security updates, and maintenance, repair and renovation projects across multiple LISD campuses and facilities, according to bond details.
In May 2024, voters approved a $101.8 million bond package featuring three propositions that will generate additional funding to conduct maintenance, repairs and renovations at various athletics and recreation facilities across the district.
Looking ahead
Fite said the district aims to complete the stadium work this summer and the campus repairs are tentatively scheduled to complete in fall 2026.
