After closing for inclement weather Jan. 9, Argyle ISD and Lewisville ISD announced that all schools and buildings will remain closed Jan. 10 as a winter storm continues in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for Jan. 9 through Jan. 10, expecting a wintry mix with snow and sleet accumulations between 1 and 4 inches and ice accumulations around a tenth of an inch.

What to know

According to a news release, all Argyle ISD schools and administration offices will be closed Jan. 10. Officials made the decision after monitoring winter weather conditions and hazardous roads.

Since the district and schools are closed, parents and guardians do not have to submit a school absence note for Jan. 10. AISD officials are assessing rescheduling after school athletic events for Jan. 11, according to the release.

LISD also decided to close all schools and facilities, but officials stated that decisions about extracurricular activities will be made at a later time by coaches or program directors, according to a news release.

Before you go

AISD officials will share more information next week regarding how these two school closure days will affect the 2024-25 academic calendar, according to the release. The district will keep parents informed through several platforms.

LISD officials also stated in the release that plans to make up the missed days will be announced at a later date. Parents can stay informed of any potential updates through the districts’ multiple platforms.
