The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for Jan. 9 through early Jan. 10, expecting a wintry mix with snow and sleet accumulations between 1 and 4 inches and ice accumulations around a tenth of an inch.
What to know
According to a news release, Argyle ISD schools and offices will be closed Jan. 9 due to the winter storm conditions forecasted for Denton County.
The decision was made in collaboration with the National Weather Service, Denton County officials, and neighboring school districts, officials stated. The inclement freezing weather expected to impact the Argyle and surrounding areas includes the possibility of sleet and multiple inches of snow.
All athletics and activities before and after school on both indoor and outdoor have been canceled, according to the release.
LISD also decided to close all schools and facilities and all after school activities, according to a news release.
Before you go
Decisions about school closure on Jan. 10 for both districts are still undetermined and will be announced through one of multiple LISD and AISD platforms.
AISD officials stated in the release that they will evaluate the roadways, sidewalks, and campuses, if needed, before determining closing another day.
In Argyle ISD, the release of student report cards will be delayed until Jan. 14, and will be made available in the family access parent portal on that date, according to the release.
