Hebron's refresh included a new entryway and updates to campus safety, including video doorbells, controlled access points and keyless door vestibules. Southridge's refresh included the renovation and replacement of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems as well as new paint, floors, wall finishes, audio and video equipment, and more.

May election update: Following the deadline to file for candidacy in the May 6 general election, numerous candidates have announced their withdrawal from the LISD board of trustees race.

Jake Preda and Thronn Hicks both withdrew from their respective elections, according to documents filed with the district. Preda withdrew his name from consideration for Place 6 and Hicks from consideration for Place 7.

Two candidates, Mindy Bumgarner and Michelle Alkhatib, remain in the race for Place 6. Staci L. Barker, Jacob Anderson and Ashley Jones are still running for Place 7.

All remaining candidates are new to the LISD board; Place 7 Trustee Tracy Scott Millerand and Place 6 Trustee Kristi Hassett are not running for another term.

Early voting begins April 24 in Denton County.
