A Chick-fil-A location in Flower Mound has reopened after a few months of renovation, and it includes a new amenity: a playground.
Preston Driscoll, general manager of Chick-fil-A at 2001 Long Prairie Road, said the Long Prairie location reopened at 10:30 a.m. June 13. The restaurant began renovations in March, said Michele Hodapp, marketing director with Chick-fil-A Founders Square.
What they’re saying
“It’s been great so far,” Driscoll said about the reopening, noting a “few hiccups” when the restaurant opened with some technical issues.
Otherwise, it has been “real smooth” as far as ironing out details regarding labor and preparing for Friday and Saturday business, which are the restaurant’s most busy days, Driscoll said. Chick-fil-A has a corporate policy of being closed on Sundays.
How we got here
Driscoll said the remodel of the restaurant was necessary to help it achieve what modern Chick-fil-A restaurants “look like and feel like, operationally.” The restaurant increased its drive-thru capacity “dramatically” by having two permanent lanes constructed around the building. There are outside awnings that come with stands and heaters so employees are comfortable outside taking orders in all kinds of weather. Plus, the location will have a brand-new playground, he said.
Zooming in
The restaurant expanded in size by about 300 square feet, Driscoll said. The kitchen was enlarged in the remodeled building.
“The inside, I guess, is definitely like a lot brighter,” he said, describing the tiles, walls and lighting, and noting the remodeled space is “a more modern restaurant.”
Eventually, the restaurant will have curbside service, but for now, it will have other regular services, such as dine-in, carryout and third-party delivery.
Hours of operation at the restaurant are 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m. for dine-in service and 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m. for drive-thru service.
