Oncor will be relocating power lines along US 377 Feb. 7 in Argyle, which could cause a power outage lasting a maximum of 10 hours.

The project will start at 10 p.m. Feb. 7 and is expected to finish by 6 a.m. Feb. 8, according to a town of Argyle Facebook post.

What you need to know

For a majority of the Oncor customers close to US 377, the power will only be out for 30 minutes. For 30% of the affected area, residents may lose power for up to 10 hours, but “they don’t expect it to last that long," said Oncor spokesperson, Briana Monslave.

Oncor talked with Argyle Mayor Rick Bradford to ensure minimal impact and residents affected by the power outage were notified by Oncor, Monslave said.

To report a power outage, residents can call 888-313-4747 or go online.

The details

The power lines are being transferred to clear the way for the Texas Department of Transportation, TxDOT, to start construction on US 377, Monslave said.

The project includes widening the two-lane rural highway into a four-lane urban highway from Country Club Road to FM 407, said TxDOT Public Information Officer Tila Grant. The project will go out to bid for construction in August 2033 with construction to follow, said Grant. The estimated cost for the project is $157 million.
