Highlighting their massive growth over the past 12 months, the mayors from Lewisville, Flower Mound and Highland Village presented updates on their respective cities at the Feb. 28 State of the Cities luncheon, held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lewisville.

Flower Mound Mayor Derek France, Highland Village Mayor Daniel Jaworski and Lewisville Mayor T.J. Gilmore all presented on their municipalities' past and current growth.

Highlights include:

Flower Mound
  • 116 new businesses in the past 12 months, leading to 1,250 new jobs
  • The beginning of Flower Mound Ranch, a mixed-use portion made up of approximately 1,066 acres of land and encompassing residential uses; open spaces; corporate campuses; and civic, retail, hospitality, institutional, entertainment and office uses
  • 10 upgrades at town parks
Highland Village
  • The celebration of the city's 60-year anniversary
  • New fencing going around the city's splash pad
  • Adding kickball fields throughout the city
  • “Fill-in-the-blank” construction and updates around the city trail system
Lewisville
  • Updates on the numerous Old Town Lewisville construction and new builds
