Construction to renovate a space to accommodate martial arts studio Gracie Barra in Highland Village is set to begin in early June, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

No structural changes are planned for the building, per the filing, but renovations will include finishes, lighting and layout changes. The estimated cost of construction is $70,000 and work is expected to last through late July.

Gracie Barra teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu and self-defense classes for children and adults, according to its website.
