An Iowa-based convenience store is entering the Texas market.

Casey’s General Store has purchased 22 Lone Star Food Stores in a deal announced on Nov. 3. Most of the locations are in north Texas near the Oklahoma border, but there is one location in Bartonville and two in McKinney. All of the stores are within a 60-mile radius of a distribution center Casey’s will use in Sherman, according to a news release.

Casey’s has locations in 16 other states. The business sells pizza by the slice, as well as serving hot and cold sandwiches that are made to orde, according to its website. A news release states that all the employees at the gas stations will be retained.

"The Lone Star convenience stores are high quality stores located on great corners in fantastic markets," Casey’s CEO Darren Rebelez said in a news release. "They will also serve as a springboard into the great state of Texas for Casey's. We look forward to bringing our convenience store and food offerings to North Texas soon."
