Lighthouse Chiropractic is now open in Flower Mound, owner Austin Ray said.

Ray opened Lighthouse as his first chiropractic center after working in an office with other doctors in Frisco. Ray chose the location at Parker Square because he and his family live nearby, and he wanted to open his first office in a community they love.


He strives for a holistic approach with a focus on the nervous system, offering thorough examinations and clear communication with patients. Ray is also certified in a technique specific to pregnant patients as well as pediatric care, he said.

“I want to see people not only get better from pain, but also optimize their health through chiropractic care,” he said.Honey Berry Pancakes & Cafe

Honey Berry Pancakes & Cafe opened in Highland Village.

The store specializes in breakfast with selections of pancakes, French toast, eggs Benedict and more, General Manager Nikki Buccino said. The cafe also serves a lunch menu as well, complete with burgers, sandwiches, wraps and salads.


Patrons can also order different coffees from macchiatos and cappuccinos to espressos and lattes. The business started in Chicago and has grown to 13 locations between there and Dallas-Fort Worth.Coming soon

Vieux Carre

French restaurant Vieux Carre Brasserie held a soft opening Aug. 28 in Flower Mound, owner Carrie Britton said.

It will serve French cuisine with a modern twist and have options for brunch, lunch and dinner. Courses range from puff pastry Benedict with French ham, poached eggs, black pepper hollandaise and hash browns, to filet mignon served with Beaujolais thyme pan sauce and crispy thin-sliced potato and comte cheese cake.


The owner, who doubles as the sommelier, said there will also be a curated selection of premium wines and handcrafted cocktails. Britton also owns The Funky Door Bistro & Wine Room in Lubbock.Rev’s Golf Lounge

Rev’s Golf Lounge is opening in Highland Village.

The 2,100-square-foot location will feature four high-end golf simulators available for rent in Highland Village Town Center, owner Cody Kurtz said in an email. It will also host corporate events, team-building days for local businesses and birthday events.

“It's a dream come true for me, and I'm eager for [Highland Village] to experience Rev's,” Kurtz said.

Fitness center Body20 is opening in Highland Village, owner Siva Karuturi said.

The 2,000-square-foot space will be located in The Shops at Highland Village, Karuturi said. The gym chain focuses on technology-based training to help clients reach their fitness goals. It uses an electro-muscle stimulation suit, which members wear during a 20-minute one-on-one session as part of their personalized training program, according to the company’s website.Michaels

National arts and crafts store chain Michaels is opening in Flower Mound. An opening date has yet to be determined.

According to Inventrust properties’ website, the store will be located in a recently vacated Bed Bath & Beyond store that shut its doors after widespread closures amid the company’s filing for bankruptcy.


Michaels sells products for almost every facet of arts and crafts while also offering classes and events from jewelry and piñata making to woodburning, faux stained glass and polymer clay workshops, according to its website.In the news

The Shops at Highland Village

Highland Village City Council approved a first read of a renovation request from The Shops at Highland Village to add parking spaces at an Aug. 22 meeting, according to a city news release.

The request called for the removal of the southern common area to allow an additional 20 parking spaces, a gateway arch, a stage area, benches, new seating, tables, string lighting and revise the parking spaces on the north side of the common area.

City council approved the request with a 6-1 vote. A second reading is scheduled for Sept. 14.
