Bed Bath & Beyond is planning to close its 360 retail stores across the country, including one in Lake Highlands, after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy April 23.
A spokesperson said a closing date has not yet been set. Until then, the retail company intends to continue operating its stores, including those of its sister company Buy Buy Baby.
“We deeply appreciate our associates, customers, partners and the communities we serve, and we remain steadfastly determined to serve them throughout this process,” President and CEO Sue Gove said in a press release. “We will continue working diligently to maximize value for the benefit of all stakeholders.”
As it prepares to close, the company will begin offering closing sales April 26. Customers can redeem "Welcome Rewards" and use merchandise credits until May 15, according to the company’s website. Gift cards can be used until May 8, but coupons will not be accepted after April 26.
