A company that makes craft ice has moved its headquarters to Flower Mound and expects to create 100 jobs.
Lux Ice, formerly of Philadelphia, has moved into space at 1200 Lakeside Parkway, Ste. 475, and operations have started, but the company is just in the ramp-up stage now, said Melissa Demmitt, communications director for the town of Flower Mound.
By the end of the year, the company will have at least 100 employees, and once fully operational, the company will have more than 100 employees, Demmitt said.
On its website, the company said Lux Ice is a “brand of crystal-clear, tasteless, ice spheres that elevate the aesthetics and taste of any drink.” The website further explained craft ice is made from filtered water, frozen at sub-zero temperatures and usually completely clear.
“Our spheres are crystal clear and slow-melting, adding beauty and sophistication to your drinks while keeping them colder longer, with less dilution,” the website states.
