The recent rain in North Texas has not done much to quell the drought across the area.

According to the Texas Water Development Board 43 percent of the state is considered to be in a drought—up four percent from the previous week.

Tarrant County is considered to be in an "exceptional" drought, which is the highest classification on the U.S. Drought Monitor's scale of 0-4. The western portion of Dallas County is also in an exceptional drought; the eastern portion is in an "extreme drought."
