The University of North Texas announced March 25 it would offer two new degree programs beginning this fall at its Frisco satellite campus at Hall Park. The Frisco campus will offer two new business opportunities with the Bachelor of Science in general business and MBA in business analytics. The Master of Business Administration in business analytics was recently approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and it is the only one its kind in Texas, according to UNT. “We are now one of the only M.B.A. degrees in the U.S. with a STEM-designation,” said Leon Kappelman, chair of the UNT Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences, in a press release. “The beauty of this unique configuration is that students not only get a strong foundation in business analytics, but they will also graduate with a core-management foundation and that is great for those who aspire to managerial and C-suite positions.” According to Kappelman, the MBA in business analytics is intended for technical professionals who want to move into a managerial career path. Both online and traditional, face-to-face courses will be available. Classes will be held for both programs at the Denton campus and in Frisco.
