Frisco ISD will host immunization clinics July 10-13 to assist new and returning students who may be missing required vaccinations for the 2017-18 school year.

Passport Health/North Texas Flu Shots will conduct the vaccination clinics at the FISD Early Childhood School, 10330 Red Cedar Drive. Hours vary depending on the day. The clinics will be held in conjunction with registration at the Early Childhood School.

State law requires students in Texas schools to be immunized against certain vaccine-preventable diseases. Students cannot go to school without the appropriate documentations for the required vaccines, a valid medical reason or conscientious exemption.

Vaccinations will include chicken pox, polio, varicella, meningococcal, Hepatitis A and B. Immunizations are covered by most insurance companies, but FISD will not accept HMO plans or Aetna and Blue Cross Gold, Silver or Bronze plans. If students do not have an insurance plan the district accepts, they can receive vaccinations at a lower price. The district will then provide a receipt to submit to insurance companies for reimbursement.

The cost for vaccinations is $10 per vaccine for students age 18 and younger who do not have any insurance.

Students can also get vaccinated in a doctor's office or clinic, and Care Van provides free childhood immunizations.
