Jamba Juice, which opened its new headquarters Monday in Hall Office Park, partnered with Frisco ISD to have engineering students create and test carriers to deliver smoothies by drones. This is the first partnership for Jamba Juice in Frisco. “Delivery and access to our product is a critical challenge for us, and some of the best thinking are young kids dealing with these issues every day,” Jamba Juice CEO David Pace said. “So we decided to present them with this challenge and see what they came up with.” Students spent two weeks designing, creating and testing carriers for Jamba Juice to use with drones to transport smoothies. On Wednesday, the students and Jamba Juice executives tested out the delivery method with the final carrier model. Pace said drone delivery is a possibility for the future and this process is the company’s willingness to try something new. “The sooner you get into it, the sooner you can make it real,” Pace said. “I don’t know if it’s real for this year or next year, but at some point I think it’s real, but we’re just starting to learn now.” [g-slider gid="192542" width="100%" height="55%"]
