GCISD is serving free meals to children younger than age 18 this summer.[/caption] Grapevine-Colleyville ISD will be offering free meals to children age 18 and younger this summer until Aug. 12 as part of the Summer Food Service Program. The SFSP is a federally-funded, state-administered program. The SFSP reimburses providers who serve free, healthy meals to children and teens in low-income areas during the summer months. To participate in the meal program, all children have to do is show up to a serving site. Students will need to select a minimum of three components for breakfast and lunch. At lunch the meal must include a fruit or vegetable in order to have a complete meal. The entire meal must be consumed at the serving site as to-go breakfasts or lunches are not prohibited. Serving sites are as follows:
  • Timberline Elementary School (until July 15) Breakfast: 7-8 a.m., lunch: 11 a.m.-noon
  • Cross Timbers Middle School (until Aug. 12) Breakfast: 7:30-8:30 a.m., lunch 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
