Grapevine-Colleyville ISD employees will receive a two percent raise that will go into effect starting the 2016-17 school year.

As part of budget planning for the upcoming school year, the board of trustees asked administrators to include a cost of living adjustment.

Superintendent Robin Ryan said a pay increase was one of the major items of feedback from the community during GCISD's Thoughtexchange discussion last fall.

"Teacher compensation was a major topic of discussion in the district's Thoughtexchange survey earlier this [school] year," he said. "Thank you to our board of trustees for their leadership in making the commitment for a pay increase for our dedicated staff members."

Board president Leon Leal expressed appreciation on behalf of the board for the exemplary work of GCISD staff and their loyalty to students and families in the district. He said he hopes this adjustment would continue to bring highly qualified employees to GCISD as the board strives to keep GCISD a destination district for both families and employees.
