Filing begins Jan. 20 for board of trustees places for Carroll ISD and Grapvine-Colleyville ISD. The deadline to file for a place on the ballots is Feb. 19. The election is held the first Saturday in May, which is May 7. Early voting is from April 25-May 3.

Carroll ISD


CISD has three places up for election. Two seats, Places 6 and 7 held by Matt Kormann and Christopher Archer, respectively, –are three-year terms. The Place 1 seat held by Michele Moore is a one-year unexpired term.

Kormann, secretary, and Archer, president, have both served on the CISD Board since their election in May of 2013.

The board approved Michelle Moore on July 14, 2015 as the newest Place 1 trustee. Moore fills the vacancy left after the resignation of Trustee Craig Rothmeier in May. Moore will serve in the vacancy until the May 2016 election when voters will elect a candidate to serve out the remaining final year for Place 1. The seat will come up for election again for a three-year term in May 2017.

Early voting for CISD by personal appearance will occur at Southlake Town Hall.

Trustees elected to Places 1, 6 and 7 will be administered the oath of office at the May 16 school board meeting.

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD


Place 3 and Place 4 on the GCISD board of trustees will be elected on May 7.

Place 3 is held by Karen Deakin, who was elected to the board in May 2010. She was selected to serve as board secretary for the 2013-14 school year and as board president for 2014-15.

Place 4 is held by Lisa Pardo, who currently serves as vice president. She was first elected to the board in May 2004, then re-elected in May 2007 and May 2010. She served as president of the Board for the 2011-2012 school year. She served as vice president of the Board for two consecutive terms, and again in 2008-2009.

A candidates' forum will be held at 6:30 p.m. on April 14 at Colleyville Heritage High School, 5401 Heritage Ave., Colleyville.
