Volkswagen of Frisco ran into some issues with construction delays, but building framework is ongoing and the dealership at 5010 SH 121 is set to be open close to Oct. 1. The dealership was originally going through an expedited construction process and was expected to be completed by the end of the summer. The dealership will be the largest in the U.S. with a 60,000-square-foot building. "Construction is finally going strong," said Clarke Wilcox with Volkswagen. "If you've been by the site, you've seen the progress." Wilcox said the construction company is planning a July "topping out" ceremony—a traditional steelworker ceremony to commemorate the last major piece of framing being put in place.
