Ace’s Ice House & Chop Shop reopened in March 2016 introducing a new menu under new management after being closed for three months.

The restaurant had previously served Texas-style comfort food and was restyled as more of a sports bar serving burgers, nachos and wings, General Manager Michelle Viner said.

Viner started managing at Ace’s last April after working years in the corporate world.

“I’ve always worked in restaurants and bars while I was in school, and I felt like it was time for a change,” Viner said. “I wanted to transform Ace’s into the local hangout for Frisco.”

Live music and games have been incorporated into the restaurant’s business since it reopened.

“We understand that we’re in the entertainment business, and we have to combine good food and service while showing people a good time,” Viner said. “We want to be the place where you can watch a ball game and have some beers with your friends.”

Ace’s has daily drink specials and holds different events throughout the year, such as trivia nights, poker nights and open mic nights. The restaurant also installed 23 TVs throughout.

Customer favorites on the menu include Ace’s nachos ($8.95) and Ace’s chicken bacon ranch sandwich ($8.99).

The restaurant also added brunch to its menu, which features breakfast burritos and a country skillet on biscuits. Also part of the brunch menu are $4 bloody marys and $3 mimosas.

“When I first started here, we didn’t have a lot of new customers, and now we have regular musicians and we have regular customers,” Viner said. “We have groups of people that affiliate us as their home away from home, and that’s cool because we get to know people on a personal level. You know you’re successful when they come here to celebrate life events, like engagements and new jobs.”
