Eatery changes name, adds healthier menu items

After 14 years at its Colleyville location, Mac's Steak & Seafood relocated to Grapevine's historic Main Street in October. With the move came a new name, Mac's on Main, which owner Rena Frost said would help differentiate the restaurant from others on the street.

"We wanted a new name that was not too formal and didn't come across as expensive or inexpensive, but right in the middle," she said.

Although the new location may be half the size of the former restaurant, it does have two patios, something the other location did not feature. In having a smaller kitchen, Frost said she decided to remove some items from the menu and add healthier options, such as the blackened or grilled red snapper ($20.95) and the shrimp with citrus beurre blanc sauce ($16.95). Other changes include an expanded wine list, homemade desserts, a fresh vegetable of the day, local beers on draft, a revised lunch menu and a happy hour throughout the restaurant rather than just at the bar.
