NewcrestImage, a Texas-based hotel development construction and management firm, broke ground Tuesday on a dual-brand AC Hotel and Residence Inn at Frisco Station, a 242-acre, mixed-use development at the northwest corner of Warren Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway. Both hotels are Marriott concepts.

Here are 4 things to know about the hotels:

Both hotels are part of an innovative, 600-room lifestyle hotel campus. Upon completion the campus will also include Canopy by Hilton. The hotel campus will anchor The Hub, a 31-acre, mixed-use amenity district that will be the centerpiece of Frisco Station. The Hub will offer nearly 200,000 square feet of different eatery concepts, entertainment and retail options.

2. Both hotels will share facilities.

Although this will be a duel-brand hotel feature, both hotels will have separate entrances and separate designs. The hotels will share facilities, such as any meeting space. The AC Hotel and Residence Inn are expected to open in mid-2018.

3. The AC Hotel at Frisco Station will the first in North Texas.

AC Hotel at Frisco Station will be eight stories with 150 rooms. The hotel is among the first of its brand to be constructed in North Texas. The concept is inspired by modern European design and will include gray and brown tones and furniture and fixtures with asymmetrical lines and round shapes.

A European-style breakfast will be served daily, and the hotel will have a 24-hour fitness center. The hotel will also offer more than 4,500 feet of meeting space that can accommodate a wide range of events.

4. The Residence Inn at Frisco Station will provide an extended stay option.

The seven-story, 150-room Residence Inn at Frisco Station will provide an extended stay option for guests. There will public spaces for engagements such as an indoor pool, two lounge areas and a dining room serving a daily complimentary breakfast. Room options will include studio and one- and two-bedroom suites with equipped kitchens and free grocery delivery service.
