The North Texas Ford Dealers Group has purchased the naming rights to the new Frisco Aquatics facility and the team name will also change accordingly.
The new facility, 8353 Legacy Drive, will be called Texas Ford Aquatics Center and the team Texas Ford Aquatics as of Sept. 1, according to a press release. A new logo will be featured on clothes, spirit wear, competition swim suits and swim caps.
The new facility, which includes an Olympic-size pool, warm water lesson pool, viewing lobby and offices, is expected to be complete sometime in September and a grand opening is expected to be held sometime this fall.
First Interval Swimming LLC owns the facility in partnerships with Dan McDonough, Stuart Smith, Matthew Fosheim and Carlos Nazario.
"This partnership was a strategic move for us," said Nazario, chief financial officer of Frisco Aquatics. "Being connected with a nationally recognized and reputable brand like Ford brings resources to our organization that allows us to better serve the community."
The new Texas Ford Aquatics will host a variety of programs, including therapeutic swimming, Special Olympics, water safety clinics and education. SwimAmerica learn-to-swim and United States Masters Swimming will be implemented from the opening of the facility to meet the immediate needs of the Frisco community.
TFA will also be expanding its partner-network of senior citizen groups and civic groups who may benefit from programs offered while the facility is not utilized for team training.
Frisco Aquatics is a member club of USA Swimming, the national governing body for the sport of swimming in the U.S.
