The Dallas Cowboys corporate headquarters, a multi-use event center and surrounding development is starting to take shape.
A preliminary site plan and a conveyance plan at the 91-acre plot on the northwest corner of Warren Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway are up for approval before the Frisco Planning & Zoning Commission tonight.
The item is on the consent agenda and not expected to be discussed, but is the first step toward being able to begin the construction process.
The city of Frisco in a statement said the plan approvals are a routine, required step in any development process and are not subject to review by the Frisco City Council.
"This starts the formal process of laying out where roadways as well as the Frisco multi-use events center and the Cowboys organization's headquarters will be oriented on the 91-acre property," according to a statement released by city officials.
The projects are scheduled to be complete mid- to late 2016.
The preliminary site plan shows the multi-use event center toward the northwest corner of the property and the surrounding areas of office space, retail and restaurant space, a hotel in the southeast corner, open space and multiple parking garages.
Road names, as mapped in the preliminary site plan, are Varsity Drive, Cowboys Parkway and Gridiron Road.
The project is being funded jointly by the city of Frisco ($30 million), Frisco Community Development Corp. ($25 million), Frisco Economic Development Corp. ($30 million) and Frisco ISD ($30 million).
The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to fund any part of the project that exceeds the $115 million public investment.
City and school officials said the funding will not raise taxes.
