The tennis courts at Unity Park were converted to pickleball courts after staff received requests from the community for more Pickleball courts and 80% of residents responded favorably to a survey, Highland Village Recreation Manager Andra Foreman said via email.
“Pickleball brings the community together and creates a sense of unity while promoting an active lifestyle,” Foreman said. “Players can socialize, meet new friends and build social connections."
City Council approved nearly $49,000 in funding for the conversion of the courts in the FY 2023-24 budget.
