At Monday's Lewisville City Council meeting, members unanimously approved a zone change to allow 31 townhomes to be built on 3.9 acres on the south side of West Southwest Parkway.

Each unit will contain a two-car garage and two driveway spaces situated in the front of the unit. In addition approximately 20 on-street parking spaces will be available to serve guests and visitors.

The 31 units will be a minimum of 1,600 square feet.

To the east of the property is a QT gas station that faces 121 Business. To the north of the site is a medical office, retail and a self-car wash. To the west of the property is single-family residential zoned Estate Townhouse.

Applicant Jean Pierre said in an applicant letter to the city the property, which was zoned general business prior to council's rezoning, is not viable for general business because of the lack of frontage of 121 Business. He said he believes townhomes are the best product for the site as it will act as a transition from general business along 121 Business to single-family residential.
