Grace Church opened its new church facility in April in Frisco Square after about two years of construction, and now the church has requested a specific-use permit to operate a private school.

The Frisco planning and zoning commission approved the permit during its regular meeting Tuesday. City staff had already approved the site plan for the church on Jan. 8, 2015. However, the city requires a specific-use permit in order to operate a private school in this location.
The private school would operate within the church, which plans to also add a playground. The church is already licensed by the State Board of Education for a maximum of 105 students in kindergarten through 9
th grade.
The permit will have a three-year time limit to see how the school grows and if there is a possibility for the school to move outside the church into a new building.
