The Star’s inaugural event presented by Whataburger, a quadruple header where all Frisco ISD high schools will play, will be nationally televised on ESPNU and the NFL Network.

The Lone Star High School vs. Heritage High School game will air live on ESPNU at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

On Sunday, the NFL Network will air Liberty High School vs. Wakeland High School with a start time of 2:00 p.m., and the Frisco High School vs. Centennial High School game will air at 4:30 p.m.

“Aug. 27 will be a monumental day for Frisco ISD, the City of Frisco and the Dallas Cowboys," Charlotte Jones Anderson, executive vice president and chief brand officer for the Dallas Cowboys, said in a news release. "We look forward to continuing to share The Star with the community in the coming weeks and months."

The Frisco community will have another opportunity to see The Star after Aug. 27 as the Dallas Cowboys host The Star Community Day presented by Tositos on Sept. 18. Admission will be free for all guests and more details of the event will be released closer to the date.

More events have been scheduled at the Ford Center for the 2016-17 season:

  • Sept. 10: The Southwest Showcase will bring four North Texas high school football teams for two games during a day-long event.

  • Sept. 18: The Star Community Day presented by Tostitos will be free of admission and offer family-friendly activities throughout the day.

  • Nov. 23: The day before Thanksgiving, guests can enjoy the 5K Fan Fest presented by Orthofix.

  • Feb. 18: The ninth annual 2017 Patriot Cup will bring the two best collegiate lacrosse teams to Ford Center at The Star.
