It has been eight years since Plano voters approved the district's last bond package which allocated money for new schools among other items.

The 2016 bond package was voted on in a single proposition. The bond package will be rolled out over a period of five years. For example projects such as renovations and upgrades could begin within the next year but construction of a new facility like the performing arts center would start towards the end of the five-year period.
