Frisco The city won two statewide awards for its water conservation.

Frisco won the Blue Legacy Award from the Save Texas Water program for municipalities with a population of 100,000 or more.

The award was given based on the city's education-based conservation efforts, including free sprinkler system checkups and using a volunteer community program to promote conservation as well as other conservation initiatives in collaboration with neighboring cities.

The city also won one of nine Texas Environmental Excellence awards issued annually by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for its water conservation success.
