The city of Frisco is not moving back to watering once every two weeks as recently recommended by the North Texas Municipal Water District.

City officials are instead observing its plan for the late fall and winter months—advocating for residents to turn sprinklers off because grasses go dormant in the fall and winter, Frisco Director of Communications Dana Baird said.

Despite rain in early November, as of Nov. 6, Lavon Lake, the district's largest water supplier, was 12.63 feet below the full pool level of 492 feet.

Lavon Lake provides 30 percent of the NTMWD.

"Now,as we move into cooler fall and winter months, lawns and other landscaping require less water," said Tom Kula, executive director of NTMWD.
