Members of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee on July 28 worked through more areas of an update to the seven-year-old plan.
The main areas of focus included Frisco market opportunities and discussion of what roles the city's major thoroughfares should play in the future.
Plan consultants presented committee members with statistics showing that the Generation X group (born 1968–79) continue to be attracted to Frisco as they have since the city's beginnings. Consultants identified that there is opportunity for more diverse housing types and entertainment avenues for the Generation X group.
Baby Boomers (born 1946–64) and the Generation Y group (1977–94) continue to represent a smaller demographic in Frisco.
Committee members also discussed how the Dallas North Tollway, SH 121, US 380 and Preston Road should serve the city as it continues to grow.
City Development Director John Lettelleir said the plan update should begin taking shape early in 2015.
The process to update the plan began in December 2013 when the committee was named. Planning activities have included regular CPAC meetings, joint meetings with the City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission, as well as community-wide workshops and online surveys.
