Susan Fletcher, with 51.87 percent of the vote, defeated Mark Reid, who had 48.13 percent of the vote, for the Precinct 1 Collin County Commissioner seat in the May 27 Republican primary runoff election.

A total of 8,377—5,292 of those were cast during early voting.

Fletcher and Reid were in a virtual tie after the March 4 primary. Both candidates beat out the third challenger, Ann Lieber, but neither garnered enough votes to avoid the runoff election.

Reid is currently serving as Precinct 1 commissioner after he was appointed in December to fill the unexpired term vacated by Matt Shaheen in December. Shaheen resigned to run as a Republican for the District 66 seat of the Texas House.

Fletcher has no Democratic challenger in the Nov. 4 election.

Results are unofficial until the votes are canvassed.
