Maso, Johnson, Nelson to each serve additional three-year term

The city of Frisco will not hold an election on May 10.

Incumbents Mayor Maher Maso and councilmen Tim Nelson, Place 5, and Scott Johnson, Place 6, filed for re-election and received no opposition. As a result, the Frisco City Council canceled the scheduled election.

The three will each serve an additional three-year term.

In February, the council also decided not to call for a charter amendment special election in May.

While the Charter Review Committee made some recommendations, council members decided to wait until 2015 to call for a special election.
