What started in 1984 as a go-to destination for Pioneer big-screen TVs and laser discs has evolved into a home technology showroom that specializes in home theaters and media rooms.
At more than 10,000 square feet, Stereo East has six media rooms, a hi-fi audio room, a home automation demo room and several design consultants and technicians with decades of experience in the industry.
“We are proud to have one of the largest home technology showrooms in the area,” said David Berman, vice president and general manager. “As many of today’s new homes include a media room. The majority of our customers turn to us when designing a dedicated home theater.
“At Stereo East, customers can view a variety of projector and screen combinations while listening to different surround sound configurations and selecting the options that work best for their room.”
Berman, a Frisco resident, has more than 30 years experience in both retail and manufacturing. He has worked with brands, such as Mitsubishi, Polk Audio and Monster Cable.

Berman said customers will find what they are looking for with the assistance of experts in the field.
“Our people are technology enthusiasts, and as such, we spend our time finding the best combinations of value, performance and reliability for our clients,” he said. “Whether it’s as simple as controlling a few lights or being able to manage everything from A/V equipment to security and surveillance from a mobile device, home control and automation has become more popular than ever.”
Berman said it is important to get help with today’s technology options.

“The biggest challenge we face on a daily basis is conveying the importance of home technology, prewiring and networking,” he said. “Devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, HD TVs, Blu-ray players and surveillance cameras are an ubiquitous part of our daily lives, but without the proper network and infrastructure for support, performance suffers.”

However, Stereo East offers more than technology. The store’s showroom includes home theater seating and recliners in a variety of styles.
“Our comfortable home theater seating and functional, stylish audio/video furniture are also a huge hit with customers,” he said.
Berman said he and the team at Stereo East are proud to do business in a growing community.
“We built a showroom when a lot of the surroundings were agricultural, and it’s been great to be a part of the booming growth and development in our area,” he said. “So we feel as though as it’s our responsibility to give back to our community.”
