Owner Nanc Christopherson celebrated the first anniversary of her shop, Longarm Quilting Academy, in November.

Christopherson specializes in T-shirt quilts and teaches a number of lessons and techniques on how to use a Longarm sewing machine to finish quilts. She also demonstrates equipment for prospective buyers and rents and services equipment.

In addition, Christopherson offers a variety of hands-on classes such as "New Owner TNT (Thread, Needle, Tension)," which teaches the balance of the three parts of quilting, and "Make a Tote on the Frame," in which participants are taught how to make a tote bag from start to finish in a single four-hour class session.

The store also carries products geared for finishing quilts, all types of thread, needles, fabric, accessories and complete home-quilting setups. It also offers a space for on-site quilting parties.
