A new app-based on-demand transportation service is coming to the Frisco area.
Co-owners Tony Brusdeilins and Brian Haigwood, who have been in the limo/car service business for about 30 years and currently operate Superior One Transportation, plan to have the app available and oneride operational sometime within the first week of October.
The service is similar to Uber in that it will allow users to schedule rides through apps on both Apple and Android devices. Unlike Uber, however, oneride allows a user to schedule rides in advance and only charges a flat fee based on the car type and distance—which the passenger is aware of in advance, Brusdeilins said.
Brusdeilins said riders will know when a car is picking them up and be able to communicate with the driver through the app. Users will have access to the full name and a photo of the driver, as well as the make, model and license plate number of the car.
Oneride has amassed about 150 drivers—all experienced limo drivers who will be dressed professionally and are background checked, the owner said. Users will have the opportunity to rate drivers and leave feedback and only drivers with top ratings will be utilized.
The locally owned company will begin operation in Dallas and the surrounding areas, and hopes to eventually branch out to other cities, such as Austin. Oneride operates through licensed and insured transportation companies.
