Whether you like musicals or walking tours, there are plenty of fall events this weekend to check out in Frisco.

Friday: First Friday Vets

On the first Friday of every month, the Sci-Tech Discovery Center invites veterans to the Makerspace studio to learn, create, build and make. Guests will be able to work on their own projects. There will be instructional programs on soldering electronics and woodworking. There will be two sessions with the first session starting at 6 p.m. and the second session starting at 7 p.m. This is a free event but registration is required as well as a military I.D. The event will take place at the Sci-Tech Discovery Center, 8004 Dallas Parkway, Frisco.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: The Last 5 Years- A Musical by Jason Roberty Brown

Frisco Community Theatre presents a musical that closely explores the rise and fall of relationships and the games couples play. The play deals with adult themes and contains some adult language. It is not recommended for children. Tickets are $22, seniors (ages 60+) and veterans pay $20; students and active duty military pay $14. The show begins at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Performances will be held at the Black Box Theater, 8004 Dallas Parkway, Frisco.

Saturday: Pops Concert Series "A Tribute to Ella & Bird"

Odysseus Chamber Orchestra opens its season featuring local artist Candace Mahogany Davis (vocals) and saxophonist Jason David in a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and Charlie “Bird” Parker. Tickets for adults are $20 and $16 for seniors and students. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. at Grace Church, 8440 Grace Street, Frisco.

Saturday: Chunk Your Junk

Chunk Your Junk is an event for Frisco residents to dispose of unwanted items from homes, garages and yards, such as broken furniture, old tires or odds and ends that do not fit into the residential trash container. This event will take place from 8 a.m.- noon at the Frisco Environmental Collection Center, 6616 Walnut St., Frisco.

Saturday: Autumn Walking Tour at the Museum of the American Railroad

Guided walking tours of the museum continue this fall. Site tours are entirely outdoors and involve walking and some climbing. Tours last approximately 45 minutes beginning at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m on Saturday. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 3-12. Guests should meet at the Frisco Heritage Museum, but the tour will take place at the Museum of the American Railroad, 6455 Page Street, Frisco.
