The long-awaited National Videogame Museum is set to open April 2. The museum will feature video game memorabilia collected over three decades.

“We’ve been collecting since the dawn of video games,” co-founder Joseph Santulli said.

Because of space limitations, Santulli said the collection will be rotated regularly so visitors will often see something new with each visit.

Visitors will also be able to interact with the exhibits through playing games and finding hidden clues throughout the museum.

“When we were first talking about museums, I used to explain to people that I hate them,” Santulli said. “… When we set out to do this, we had to make it different. We really tried to capture the interactivity of video games much more than we tried to capture a museum vibe.”

The museum will open at 10 a.m. April 2. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and younger.
