A grand opening celebration for Bravo Park in Allen is planned for late June.
Billingsley Company is hosting a grand opening celebration for Allen’s newest park from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., June 20 at 785 Bravo Park Drive, according to a company news release.
The specifics
The Bravo Park grand opening event will include a ribbon-cutting, food trucks, a DJ, lawn games, pickleball, live entertainment and more, the release states. In addition, the first 200 guests will receive a free burger, the city of Allen’s website states.
Attendees can also participate in a community time capsule project, a scavenger hunt, a ceremonial tree planting and tour a model apartment for a chance to win six months of free rent, the release states.
“Bravo Park reflects our vision for Sloan Corners as a place that brings people together and creates meaningful experiences for the surrounding community,” Billingsley Co. founder and partner Lucy Billingsley said in the release. “We are excited to officially welcome the community and showcase everything this development will continue to bring to Allen and Collin County.”
How we got here
Bravo Park is part of the Billingsley Company’s Sloan Corners development, located along SH 121. When complete, the roughly $3 billion mixed-use development project will span 480 acres across Allen and Fairview and include apartments, retail, restaurants and office space.
Allen City Council unanimously approved accepting a donation of about 9.65 acres of parkland located within the Sloan Corners development at an April meeting.
One more thing
Bravo Park includes a statue of a bear reading a book, and the Allen Public Library is inviting individuals to help name the statue, per the release. Individuals can submit name suggestions online through Aug. 31 and the winning name will be announced Sept. 12, per the city’s website.
