Election day in Allen: Here is what residents need to know on May 2

As Allen residents prepare to cast a ballot on May 2, here is what to know before heading to the polls.

What you need to know

Residents will see one opposed local race on the May 2 ballot for the mayoral election. Current Allen Mayor Baine Brooks is completing his final term in the seat and cannot run for reelection based on the city's ordinances for term limits.

Candidates for the Allen mayoral race include:

• Chris Schulmeister
• Dave Shafer

Multiple local races also feature candidates running unopposed, including:

• Tommy Baril, Allen City Council Place 2
• Polly Montgomery, Allen ISD board of trustees Place 6
• Bill Parker, Allen ISD board of trustees Place 7

Polling locations in Collin County operate from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Voters must bring an acceptable photo ID to vote, such as a:
