Construction is underway in Cypress on Cue Luxury Apartments, a new apartment complex being built at the southeast corner of Fry and Longenbaugh roads by David Development.

The apartments will provide 251 homes and are slated to open around mid-September, an official with Cue Apartments confirmed July 16. Prices have not yet been announced.

Residents can choose from nine different floor plans spanning from 661 square feet to 1,469 square feet and from one to three bedrooms. Cat- and dog-friendly units will be available throughout the community for a $400 one-time pet fee, $100 refundable deposit and $20 monthly pet rent, according to the project website.

Amenities will include a swimming pool, indoor and outdoor kitchens with lounging areas, a fitness center and a yoga area. The community will also feature a gourmet coffee and hot tea bar, a social lounge, a car care center and a dog park.

The new project is underway as demographers with Population and Survey Analysts are projecting multifamily growth over the next decade within the Cy-Fair ISD service area. A total of 5,451 new units are expected by fall 2023, and 13,131 new units will be added by fall 2028, researchers said in a report released in May. The estimate is "extremely conservative in that it only includes known plats or sites within the district," according to the report.

"The district will continue to add higher density housing as a greater proportion of its land use, even though new apartment construction has slowed this year and last year," researchers wrote in the report. "Many [school] districts see continued demand for multifamily units as the area matures, and CFISD will be no exception."

Cue joins several other luxury apartment projects underway in Cypress. Preleasing is expected to begin later this summer at Lakeside Row in Bridgeland, which will feature 312 apartment units and 12 two-story townhomes. Towne Lake has also announced a project at Cypress North Houston and Greenhouse roads that will feature townhomes and garden-style apartments.
