Zara Flores' story

My name is Zara Flores, and I am an editor for Community Impact. I love listening to music, going to concerts, reading and spending time outdoors with my dogs.

What is one of your strengths and how do you use it at CI?

My top strength is Empathy. I've worked on many stories that deal with serious, touchy matters, and it helps me connect with my subjects on a deeper level.

What is your favorite project you worked on while at CI?

My favorite project at CI is also the hardest I've ever worked on: fentanyl overdoses within Hays CISD. My Empathy strength lent itself well when speaking with families that have lost loved ones to this epidemic.
