2,000-acre community under construction with the help of goats in Montgomery County

Oxland Group, a Texas-based company, held a goat-breaking event to begin construction on Two-Step Farm, a 2,000-acre community located near 7914 Green Oak St., Montgomery.

In a nutshell

With the help of Open Space Group, 450 goats began to clear the development's land in an environmentally friendly way, Oxland Group Co-Founder Tom Woliver said. The goats are anticipated to clear 30-40 acres a day while new roads will be constructed.

There will be a total of 4,000 homes with 1,100 homes included in the first phase, which is planned to open in early 2025, Woliver said. The community will have nine different building plans along with a farm shop and a dance hall that will serve as the community center.
