R.F. Meador Library completes renovations, will host ribbon-cutting ceremony

Following completion of a $150,000 renovation project that began in June, the R.F. Meador Library will open its doors on Dec. 17 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The project

As previously reported, R.F. Meador Library underwent various renovations in June funded by several sources, including grants from the Tocker Foundation and the Still Water Foundation.

The improvements include a new children's area with more space for families to sit together and an interactive iPad area. The teen area has been updated with more spaces for studying and relaxing, and the library services were upgraded as well with a new dedicated service point.

The largest renovation has been the meeting space, which is now able to hold 50 people and provide more space for educational programs.

According to a news release, the official celebration will be on Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon. Thanks to the funds, the library was able to add a variety of new features to the building, including new paint, furnishings and an updated layout.
