Chi'Lantro, a Korean and Tex-Mex fusion restaurant, closed its location on Burnet Road effective April 30, according to the founder, Jae Kim.

The location was Chi'Lantro’s second brick and mortar, Kim said, which opened in 2015. The team closed the location because they couldn’t find a long-term sustainable plan. The rent price at Chi'Lantro’s Burnet location was set to increase more than 30% upon renewal, Kim shared.
“[These] are never easy decisions, especially when so much history is tied to a space,” Kim said.
On the menu
Chi'Lantro’s menu features rice-based bowls, including the b’bimbap and braised Korean bbq pork bowl. Additional menu items include wraps, fries and Korean fried chicken wings.

The brand doesn’t plan to open an additional location at this time, as Chi'Lantro still has a north Austin presence, Kim explained. Chi'Lantro’s other Burnet Road location remains open in northwest Austin at 11005 Burnet Road, Ste. 108.
Around 20 employees from the now-closed Chi'Lantro have moved to other locations, Kim said. Employees were notified of the store’s closure months ahead of time.
