Three developments to follow in 2020: Updates on the Texas Health and Human Services Commission headquarters, Saltillo and RiverSouth

North Austin Complex

This $445 million project at Guadalupe and 46th streets will serve as the Texas Health and Human Services Commission headquarters. Construction on Phase 1—a nine-story office building and a seven-story parking garage—is scheduled to end this year.

Saltillo

This 10-acre development in East Austin has transformed six contiguous blocks to include 800 residences, 150,000 square feet of office space and 115,000 square feet of retail space. Construction ended in January; tenants are finishing their spaces.

RiverSouth

This 15-story mixed-use building, with ground-floor restaurants and retail and 37,000 square feet of office space, will open in early 2021 at 401 S. First St. Since breaking ground in March, the site is nearing full excavation status and will go vertical this spring.
