On a Friday night in February, locals head to Beachside Billy’s in Volente to grab a beachcomber burger or munch on golden Wisconsin cheese curds. Since he and three others bought the place in 2017, Adam Weedman has been working to keep Beachside Billy’s—equipped with a bar, live music and karaoke—a hub for locals.
“When you come in, you can tell everybody knows each other,” he said. “Even if you don’t know everybody, if you come here two or three times, you will.”
The lakeside restaurant is part of Volente Beach Resort, which consists of rentable cabins and a water park overlooking Lake Travis. While the water park is only open May-September, Beachside Billy’s serves burgers, pizzas, wings and more year-round.
Although it is a hangout for Volente residents, Weedman is quick to note that it is close to Anderson Mill Road in Cedar Park and the Four Points area.
The restaurant was first created in the 1950s under the name See Island Inn, Weedman said. A new owner later purchased the restaurant and began adding pools and slides in 1998.
